The tiny Lochen Na Fola catches the early morning light
I stayed at this location overnight on a recent campervan road trip to Scotland to be treated to this stunning sunrise at the small lake called Lochen Na Fola at Glencoe on the Scottish Highlands.
although and early start at around 4am The light came out beautifully and I got this amazing image
That waterfall at Buachaille Etive Mor in Scotland
This was one of the reasons for my campervan trip to Scotland this year and I'm so glad I visited Glencoe.
I spent 2 nights at the base of this iconic mountain, the second morning after a dusting of snow and a great sunrise I was treated to this shot, the waterfall was flowing fast from all the rain and the sun just caught the top of the Monroe before becoming foggy
The fiery storm clouds above the old man of Storr
I always wanted to see the old man of Storr on the Isle of Skye and finally got the chance on a campervan trip to the Highlands, I was treated to an amazing sunrise however it was during storm conditions and probably the windiest hike I have ever had.
The 60+mph winds made it hard to keep the tripod steady but I love the results. I decided to capture the pinnacle lower down to capture the storm cloud above with its unusual eye of the storm shape before it disappears
Lagangarbh cottage at Glencoe on the Scottish highlands
This is one of those houses that you see and fall in love with its remoteness lying on Scotlands Glencoe mountain pass, it's amazing compositional placement makes the most amazing photos especially with a dusting of snow and rolling hill fog.

The unique Neist point on the Isle of Skye
The stunning rugged Neist point on the Isle of Skye in the Scotish Hebrides, I hadn't originally planned to visit this location unless I had time on the way back from Harris and Lewis.
Luckily I suppose I couldn't get on the ferry that day so meant I managed to visit this location on a sunny day, However half an hour afer this picture, the cloud came in thich and sucked all the life out of the scene it was very dark and windy and meant I could no longer take any further picture.
However i managed to get this amazing iconic shot with the last of the light hitting the side.
The Brecon Beacons in Wales
The Brecon Beacons national park in Wales is somewhere I would love to spend a few months exploring, I have been lucky enough to have a few brief visits and in summary I love it, It reminds me very much of a more mountainous version of Dartmoor with epic forests and waterfalls. I plan to spend a few more long weekends here
Dolbadarn castle on the Snowdonia national park in Wales
Dolbadarn Castle on the Snowdonia national park might be a well photographed location and there is reason for it, the backdrop to the castle is stunning, The national park was a safe haven for people exscaping seveal rulers over the years and strongholds were build surround the park in several locations as well as small keeps like this one on the park itself.
The light looses its grip to the Dark valley of Glencoe on the Scottish highlands
The light loses its grip to the darkness on the stunning valley of Glencoe on Scotlands Highlands. This shot involved a climb up the mountain opposite the famous Buachaille Etive Mor, The result was a great sunset with the Buachaille being lite by red light and the light shining up the dark valley of Glencoe.

The Glyder fawl on the Snowdonia national park in Wales
The Glyder Fach on Snowdonia is only about 50m lower than its highest peak Snowdon, is a lot quieter in terms of tourists, but its is a massive and tiring hike.
But its more than worth it and the rocks poking through the ground remind me of my local Dartmoor but the rocks here are jagged, sharp and pointy, it looks almost like needles pushed up through the ground.
Hence to say you can get some epic images of the location.

The stunning Austrian style church sits below Northen Italy's Dolomites in the sweeping hills of South Tyrols, Val Di Funes
It was a very overcast and misty day but luckily the sky cleared just entering the blue hour to get this image with a pink hue lightening up the cold mist
Grindelwalds, Lake Bachalpsee
Probably my favorite location of the year, Switzerland's Lake Bachalpsee, It doesn't look much on the approach to it but when you get down to it and use the lake's reflections you can get some amazing images.
This shot was taken during a fiery sunrise after camping on location at -3 degrees C

The boathouse at Lago di braies
Northen Ital'ys Dolomites, regions and lakes do not disappoint including the stunning lago di braies with the greenest waters I have ever seen and massive peaks soring out of the lake.
This image includes the famous boathouse, most of my time here was cloudy but midday I got enough light to spend a good day walking around this beautiful location
Switzerlands Aletsch glacier
The unique Aletsch glacier is the largest on The alps, at over 23km long and 1km wide, its lies in a valley just above Fiesch.
